Atabaque and Pandeiro.

Of persians or Arabic origens we don't know, for sure it is well know in Africa region. Brought to Brasil by Portuguess to be used in religiasn cerimony. Late on  it became part of the capoeira orchestra and game.

How to make an Atabaque. 

It is an intrument of percussion. Made of  ipe wood with ½ inchs thick and 2 to 4 inches wild presed with rings made of iron with 15 to 30 iches in diametre,  a pice of leather from coat or cow atached with cords and tuned with peaces of wood that we call cunha. The atabaque together with the “pandeiro” it's fallow the rithm of the Berimbau in the capoeira roda or game

Probably of Hindu or Arabi origens, it arives in Brasil with the Portugues. The pandeiro was at the first religious  pareid in Brasil June 13 1549 in Bahia (Corpus Christi). The pandeiro today is used in religious cerimony, samba or in the roda de capoeira (Circle of capoeira). Today there is pandeiros of diferents sizes and shape. The pandeiro can be made of plastic for samba or leather or snake skin better for capoeira. We don't know eactly when the pandeiro was introduced to the capoeira roda.

 The pandeiro for sure is the reference in the Brasilian music.
